Sopot  

Sopot (12 000 c) is found in the foot of the steep southern slopes of the Central Stara planina mountain, 5 km from Karlovo, 135 km from Sofia. It is important machine-building centre. In the times of the Bulgarian revival is known with the name Alten Sopot (The Golden Sopot). It is developed like an important craft and comersial centre. It was destroyed in the times of the April rising and the Liberation war (1876-77).

The birthplace of Ivan Vazov was built in XV²²² century, during the Russo-Turkish War the house was burned, in 1935 it was completely rebuilt. In one room was restored barbershop Hadji Achilles with colorful characters from the story "Hadji Achilles" and story "Chichovtsi".

Near the town are the ruins of Anevsko Kale - Bulgarian fortress of XII century. Sopot is a starting point for the Central Balkan. Chair lift for 30 minutes reaching 1600 meters. Upper station is Nezabravka hut. Intermediate is in place Pochivaloto (1350 meters) - a place for flights delta and para-gliders. Marked hiking trails lead from hurs Sopot, Nezabravka and Dobrila, and peaks Botev and Ambaritsa.

The Moanstery St. Blessed Virgin (Female convent) is located just 150 meters north of the city center. In XV century there were small chapel which in 1665 was founded a monastery. In 1877 it was destroyed by the Turks, abbess a cruel killed. Survive the church fountain, part of the cells and cranny of Vasil Levski. After liberation, the monastery was restored. A trellis vine in the courtyard is more than 350 years and is considered one of the oldest in Bulgaria.

Rozino (4 000 c) is on the road and the railway Sofia - Burgas. The charm of Rozino are the rose gardens near the village. Rozino is a point of departure to hut “Echo” in the National park “Central Balkan”. Here live together four nationalities and you can at the same time to selabrate Christmas, Hristugina, Ramadan Bayram. Everyone can visit the local church or mosque. The householders can lead you to wooden picnic with barbecue and Karakachan’s folklore.

Kurnare (1 000 c) is situated on the road and the railway Sofia - Burgas, 12 km from Sopot. The national art-exhibition “Djofara”, in the foot of the National park “Central Balkan” carries out in July. Here the art and the nature show the power of the real values in the life and offer one unforgetable eco vacantion under open sky. Incredible attraction is the house of the artist Vesko Velev, which became an art-gallery with an art work shop. The unique chapel “The Holy Ghost” is decorated from ten Bulgarian iconographers in the style “New age”. Kurnare is the main point for the nature reserve “Steneto” and hut “Dermenka”.
